Sports and Massage Treatments offered

Sports and Remedial Massage

This is a deep tissue massage including various techniques such as Swedish Massage, neuromuscular and myofascial techniques, trigger point therapy, stretching, active, passive and resisted movements. Remedial and sports massage is designed to relieve muscular tension and return the body to a state of musculoskeletal balance. They can help to reduce pain, increase range of movement, restore appropriate balance, enhance performance and reduce the risk of re-injury. Due to its many benefits it is suitable for clients with and without injury.

Hot Stones Massage

This massage uses warm basalt stones incorporated into traditional massage strokes to ease away the pain and tension of aching muscles. One single movement with the warm stone has the effect of 4-5 movements of the hand. Relaxing, tension relieving and sheer bliss.

Seated Acupressure Massage

This seated massage uses compressions, kneading, percussion, vibrations and stretching to relax, rejuvenate and re-energise. The treatment focuses on the upper body concentrating on the head, neck, upper and lower back, shoulders, arms and hands. This treatment uses no oil and allows the client to stay fully clothed.

Swedish Massage

A deep tissue massage designed to relieve tension and stress and relax the body and mind. Light to strong movements, gentle strokes, pressing and kneading help ease the tension away.

Kinesio Taping

The Kinesio Taping method is a definitive rehabilitive taping technique that is designed to facilitiate the body's natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body's range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting.

Medical Acupuncture

Medical acupuncture involves the use of very fine needles. They are inserted through the skin and left in position. The number of needles and how long they are left in for will be determined by the client's condition and may be different for each individual. The insertion of the acupuncture needles stimulates the nervous system, encouraging the body to release its natural painkillers and change the way we feel pain. Acupuncture can be used to help treat various musculoskeletal conditions such as low back pain, neck pain and tension headaches and migraines.
